The postcard here served as both a handwritten receipt for what is apparently an over-the-counter purchase of Notgeld directly from the city of Coblenz (today Koblenz). The city government of Coblenz evidently had these printed with the available notes, and there is one (10 Pf) that is crossed out with the word vergriffen ("sold out").
